Your kitchen is the heart of your home. If you opt to make the whole vibe of your home more sophisticated and high-end, you should definitely start here. These kinds of remodeling don't have to be particularly expensive tasks. However, there are certain things where quality can't be compromised on. It can make a great and fun summer home project. So, we made a list of seven upgrades to make your kitchen more luxurious.

1) Taps with a contemporary flair

There's no functional kitchen without good tapware. But when the tap looks nice on top of it, it's a whole other level! Upgrading your tap to a metallic finish, such as brushed gold or nickel, can give it an up-to-date appearance. Also, newer "smart tap" models are available that provide fast boiling and filtering of drinking water from one outlet. This could save you a lot of time while making tea, filling up the pot to prepare pasta, or making sure everyone in the family is well hydrated. However, keep in mind that you should clean your tap daily in order to make the best impact on your interior design.

2) Refresh your cabinets by removing old paint and repainting

A common problem in many kitchens is cabinetry that has been scraped, discolored, and otherwise damaged over time. But if you're prepared to put in the effort, a simple weekend project may convert them for a fraction of the cost. Investigate the wood behind the old paint or stain on those cabinets. If the wood has a beautiful grain, use a varnish to restore and protect it. Also, make sure to choose a hue that complements your walls and appliances. Refreshed cabinets will completely transform the aesthetic of your kitchen.

Take care of utensils in the process

A small thing you also need to think about when you decide to paint is - utensils. It might be easy to forget to pack them before remodeling, but that's a rookie mistake you want to avoid. Once you start painting, you don't want any utensils in your way. It's best to remove them before starting if you want to preserve them in the right condition. If you ask storage and moving professionals for advice (since they do a lot of packing), they'll say categorizing your utensils will make your life a lot easier when upgrading your kitchen.

3) Fancy appliances will make your kitchen more luxurious

Even Gordon Ramsay wouldn't be able to cook spectacularly without his fancy appliances. A great way to upgrade your kitchen's functionality and aesthetic appeal is by choosing the newest equipment from top manufacturers. This will not only upgrade your kitchen but your cooking abilities too. With the right tools, you'll make meals like chefs at the best Alpharetta restaurant patios in no time! But, make sure to pick appliances that are compatible with the rest of the space. If your kitchen has dark cabinets, you can make it better by selecting a black oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Are you a big fan of wine tasting? The end of your island would be a great place for a convenient wine cabinet.

4) Vinyl tiles are inexpensive but sophisticated

Even if you spend a fortune on appliances, if you keep an old linoleum for your flooring, you won't achieve the high-end vibe of your kitchen. As an alternative, there are numerous possibilities for low-cost flooring projects due to the wide variety of materials available. Vinyl tiles are especially appreciated. Today's vinyl tiles are inexpensive, quick to install, and may even replicate the qualities of costlier surfaces for a high-end appearance.

5) LED lights might make it spectacular

The kitchen is no exception when it comes to the importance of good lighting. Investing in LED (light-emitting diode) lighting is a smart move for any kitchen. Some of the many perks are:

• Cost-effectiveness

• Low-maintenance

• Ability to last up to nine times as long as traditional incandescent bulbs

For general illumination, overhead LED lighting is a great choice. Layering your lighting may make your kitchen appear and function better. You may brighten up your kitchen benchtops and prep areas by installing under-cabinet LED lighting in a strip or recessed form. You don't have to spend a fortune on under-cabinet lights! LED rope lighting is a good example, which is cheap to buy and simple to set up.

6) Make an illusion of a higher ceiling

Raising the window panels will give the room a more expansive appearance by giving the impression of being higher. People frequently ignore the influence that window placement may have on a space. Adding fabric to your existing panels is a low-cost technique to accomplish this suggestion. Choose a complementary material and present it to your local seamstress, who will stitch it at the top, middle, or end of your fabric.

7) Choose a statement centerpiece

Once you remodel your kitchen according to your taste, you'll need one last touch to make that 'voilà' effect. If you chose the all-black and dark interior, adding vibrant yellow flowers in the middle of the kitchen would make it seem extremely expensive. Also, if your dining room is in the same space like the kitchen, a statement piece placed in the center of a dining table is a great decor idea. You can play with contrasts deliberately when it comes to adding that 'cherry on top.'However, in the end, take a step back to see if your idea really adds to the value of the overall design instead of making it look overcrowded and cheap.

Bottom line

When deciding on upgrades to make your kitchen more luxurious, it's important not to forget that luxury is not a synonym for 'a lot'. In fact, it's quite the opposite, especially in the world of interior design. When in doubt, always choose simplicity. It will make any idea seem more sophisticated and high-end, and that's the road to the luxury you want to take.
