Memorial Day - Have Plans?

 Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a day dedicated to appreciating fallen soldiers. Dating back to after the civil war, it wasn’t until 1968 that Congress passed an act declaring that the last Monday of May was Memorial Day. It is common practice to line grave sites of fallen soldiers with flags and flowers. Memorial Day is a great opportunity to pay respects to the men and women who have given their lives for our country.  Here’s a list of fun things to do in order to celebrate such a great holiday in the Metro Atlanta Area.

Callaway Gardens is holding their 59thMasters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament w/ live music, bouncy houses, a movie on the beach, and of course fireworks!

Decatur Arts Festival will offer an artist market and live music!

Alpharetta Arts Streetfest is also having music and live music!

Roswell Remembers is a ceremony honoring the military’s members!

Stone Mountain will be offering live music, a special lasershow, fireworks, and much more! 

Check out the Gwinnet Braves as they face off with ______ and have fireworks Friday and Monday!

The Atlanta Braves are also playing at home and having special ceremonies in order to honor the military. 

Brew At the Zoo – the Atlanta Zoo will be offering over 70 beers and wines to sample as well as live music. Did you really need even more of a reason to  visit th adorable twin pandas, Ya Lun and Xi Lun!
