Why Live In Fairfield & New Haven Counties, Connecticut

Fairfield County is a county in the southwestern corner of Connecticut. It is the most populous county in the state and was also its fastest-growing from 2010 to 2020. The county contains four of the state's top 7 largest cities—Bridgeport (1st), Stamford (2nd), Norwalk (6th), and Danbury (7th).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 837 square miles, of which 625 square miles is land and 212 square miles is water.

The terrain of the county trends from flat near the coast to hilly and higher near its northern extremity.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 862 square miles, of which 605 square miles is land and 258 square miles is water. It is the second-largest county in Connecticut by total area.

Many believe that New Haven County is one of the best places to live in Connecticut. In New Haven County, most residents own their homes. Here you will find a lot of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in New Haven County and residents tend to lean liberal. The public schools in New Haven County are above average.
