Cautious About Seeing Properties in Person

First-time home buyers had recently relocated to North Atlanta from Los Angeles for an employment opportunity in Alpharetta, Georgia.  The couple moved at the start of the pandemic and were very cautious about seeing properties in person.  For this reason, we first spent a lot of time talking about what they needed and wanted.

Read below this first-time homebuyer's story and their experience with The Mary Ellen Vanaken Team.

Young Couple and Their Desires

The buyers wanted a single-family home with a yard for a dog.  Despite having savings for a 20% downpayment and closing costs on a $400K purchase price, they didn't feel they had the time or first-hand knowledge to buy a fixer-upper.

Wanting to be near downtown Alpharetta, Georgia, and close to their office on Old Milton Parkway created a few challenges.  They had just moved from a very walkable area of northern Los Angles and wanted more of an urban versus a suburban feel.  Many of their co-workers and friends live inside the perimeter, so access to GA Highway 400 was important.

Why The Mary Ellen Vanaken Team?

The first time home buyers found The Mary Ellen Vanaken team through the recommendation of a family member. They chose the Team based on their expertise and experience with the Alpharetta, Georgia area.

How Was Sue Jennings Different?

Listing and Buyers Specialist,  Sue Jennings, went the extra mile with her clients in several ways. To be efficient in their home touring, she first helped the buyers determine what they wanted and needed in a home. Together, Sue and the buyers reviewed existing homes and several new construction condos and townhome communities in the Alpharetta, Georgia area. Sue then reached out to the onsite sales agent of the property of their choice and negotiated a wonderful low price of $382,500 "all in."
