We Love Our Agent Sue, and We Would Love For You To Know Her Story Just Like We Do!

Sue was born and raised on the "Main Line" suburbs of Philadelphia. She was an avid ice skater growing up and despite spending countless hours on the ice, she managed to play on the tennis team and graduate 10th in my class from Lower Merion High School.  From there, she went to the University of Delaware where she continued to skate on the Precision Ice Skating Team and major in Textiles and Design.  After graduation, she worked for a division of Macy's in their Executive Training Program and then moved on to Lord & Taylor for several years.  She was awarded a full scholarship and research assistantship for her MBA at Villanova University.  So, she quit her job and went back to school full time for two years while she completed her MBA.

While at Villanova, she met her best friend, Brian Jennings, who introduced her to the world of SEC basketball and how to be a true University of Kentucky basketball fan!  Brian worked in consulting and traveled a lot with his job... So, evenings Sue went back to skating at her old rink and joined the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society's Precision Ice Skating Team. They won the Eastern Regional Championship and went to Nationals where they were up against very tough competition... talk about a thrill!

After completing my MBA, Sue worked as an AVP in Large Corporate Wholesale Banking for Fidelity Bank (now Wells Fargo) in Philadelphia.  It was very much a man’s world of starched white shirts and dark suits… an environment that taught Sue to be strong, competitive, and stand up for her clients and what she believed in.  After several years, she started a company called SpreadWorks, Inc. that did financial analysis and loan review for commercial underwriting in banks across the US and for non-bank entities in Philadelphia and Australia.  As the President of SpreadWorks, Sue presented at conferences and taught various financial statement risk and cash flow analysis courses.  She ran the company for over 20 years until her family moved to Atlanta in 2010.

After moving to Atlanta, Sue wanted to combine her love of textiles and interior design with her financial lending skills… so becoming a Realtor was a natural fit.  She looked for a real estate brokerage firm with a true business sense, strong values and morals, and educational opportunities to learn from the best.  It was this last desire that drove her to looking for a great team, The Mary Ellen Vanaken Team at Keller Williams North Atlanta.  Sue has worked with Mary Ellen for 6 years and continue to try to grow the business each day.

Brian and Sue have been married for almost 28 years and have two daughters, Ashley and Kayleigh.  Both girls graduated from Georgia Tech.  Ashley lives in Glendale, CA and works as a Walt Disney Imagineer.  Kayleigh lives in Buckhead and works for Capgemini as a digital supply chain consultant. They are so proud of our daughters!!

Brian and Sue enjoy travelling anywhere, the beach in Hilton Head, tennis, watching basketball, working out at LifeTime Fitness, playing Scrabble and simply hanging with each other.  They complement each other so well that it doesn’t really matter where they are, as long as, they are together! They love living in Alpharetta on Lake Windward.
